Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg told The Daily Caller "the U.S. is headed in the wrong direction" under President-elect Donald Trump.
His comments Wednesday come the same day as Trump's first press conference as president-elect, one where he talked about job growth in the U.S., turning over control of his business to his two sons, his commitment to building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, and his thoughts on Russia hacking the DNC, and his opponent Hillary Clinton during the election.
Bloomberg's issue is mainly with Trump's opposition to free trade agreements, The Daily Caller reported.
"This country wants to cut back on world trade," but to do so would mean "going in the wrong direction," Bloomberg said at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
"[If we] stop dealing around the world," then we are "just not going to have a future," he said.
Bloomberg and Trump have butted heads for quite some time, and, more so since the president-elect started campaigning for the White House. But the two had a long, positive conversation in late November, according to Politico.
