'Rent Is Too Damn High' Guy Mulls GOP Run for Prez

Political activist Jimmy McMillan, who ran for governor of New York last year representing his "The Rent is Too Damn High" Party, now is making noises for a presidential run – as a Republican. That party affiliation comes despite the fact that McMillan once ran for New York governor as a Democrat, Politico reports.

“I’m registered Republican now,” McMillan told PBS. “I was a Democrat, but I changed my line so that I can get the issues to the front that Obama’s not addressing . . . The Democratic Party sucked.”

McMillan appeared at the Conservative Political Action Conference this month. He says President Barack Obama should "talk about how we’re going to reduce the deficit and create jobs . . . Remember when the president said, ‘Change is coming to America?’ But what he didn’t say is ‘spare change . . . The deficit is too damn high.”
