Rep. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., who is the middle of a neck-and-neck race to represent Arizona in the Senate, said Monday the only poll that really matters is when voters turn in their ballots, and dismissed a CBS poll showing her as being three points behind Democratic challenger Kyrsten Sinema as "silly."
"You could look at underlying methodology, either way, we've got to make sure we get out to every last voter," McSally told Fox News' "Fox & Friends."
"Open-minded Democrats – there are still some – Independents and Republicans, what direction do you want the country to go in? Do you want someone who spent my entire life, 26 years in the military, fighting for our freedom, or someone who advocated shutting down Luke Air Force Base, which my opponent did?"
McSally, a former fighter pilot, pointed out Sinema has protested troops, "saying she was OK if somebody joined the Taliban, killing our troops."
She also addressed the issue about the migrant caravan heading through Mexico, saying there are actually "mini caravans" coming across her state's border every day.
"They know if they just have a kid with them, they will be released in 20 days," she said. "If they're an adult, say two words, I have a 'credible fear,' they will be put into the asylum system, even with a false asylum claim, with a court date well into the future – never to show up, the vast majority of them. This is catch-and-release. Only Congress can fix it."
