The Park County, Wyoming, Republican Party has voted to censure U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., for voting to impeach former President Donald Trump.
The action came Thursday. The measure to censure Cheney was approved by a 45 to 2 vote, according to the Oil City News.
“An extremely vocal majority of Wyoming Republicans recognize there was significant irregularities in the election process in several states across the country,” the party’s censure resolution says.
And it noted: “Representative Cheney did vote in favor of the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump despite the lack of any formal hearing being held, evidence being presented, witnesses being sworn to testify, or accuser being question.”
It added: “Rep. Cheney cast her vote without any quantifiable evidence of high crimes or misdemeanors.”
The Park County Republicans join at least 10 other Wyoming county GOP groups in censuring Cheney.
Cheney was among 10 Republican House members who voted in favor of impeaching Trump for inciting an insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
The Park County Republicans also issued a resolution requesting Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., and Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., oppose the Senate impeachment trial.
