Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday that GOP presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump has a lot to learn about fighting Islamic terrorism.
In an interview from Baghdad, Iraq, with
"Face the Nation," the South Carolina Republican and former presidential primary candidate, blasted Trump's position toward Syrian President Bashar Assad.
"When Trump says that he would allow [Syrian President Bashar] Assad to stay, that tells me that he has no idea what that means in the the region," Graham said. "Mr. Trump, when he said Mr. Assad should stay, needs to rethink that."
But Graham offered praise for Clinton's call for a no-fly zone in Syria, calling it a "great step in the right direction."
"What we're doing in Syria is buying time," he warned.
Graham is on a Middle East trip along with Arizona Sen. John McCain.
