A pair of attorneys from a prominent national law firm turned down an offer to represent President Donald Trump.
According to The Daily Beast, Dan Webb and Tom Buchanan of Winston & Strawn issued a statement Monday outlining their decision to say no.
"President Trump reached out to Dan Webb and Tom Buchanan to provide legal representation," the statement reads. "They were unable to take on the representation due to business conflicts. However, they consider the opportunity to represent the president to be the highest honor, and they sincerely regret that they cannot do so. They wish the president the best and believe he has excellent representation in Ty Cobb and Jay Sekulow."
According to the firm's website, Webb is the co-executive chairman and is based in the Chicago office. Buchanan is the managing partner of the firm's Washington, D.C., office.
John Dowd, Trump's lead attorney on the Russia investigation, opted to sever ties with the president last week. Trump is also considering firing Cobb, according to another report.
It was reported Sunday two other lawyers decided not to work with Trump because of conflicts.
