One of President Donald Trump's daughters-in-law is already in full campaign mode for the president's 2020 reelection bid, McClatchy reported.
Lara Trump, wife of Trump's son Eric, kicked off a fundraiser in North Carolina over the weekend touting the president's reelection bid.
"The Trump campaign is still active and I'm proud to be part of it," Lara Trump told the crowd of GOP activists in her hometown of Wilmington last weekend, McClatchy reported.
"We're making sure we have an incredibly strong party, that we're geared up for 2018, that we're geared up for 2020."
Lara Trump, pregnant with the couple's first child, was hired as an official consultant by a digital marketing firm tapped to be at the fore of the president's reelection bid.
She and Trump's sons also recently met with Republican National Committee to discuss strategy for the midterms and 2020 amid the flurry of negative stories pervading President Trump's first term.
But she is, simply, the face of President Trump's reelection bid, McClatchy reported.
"It was very important to my father-in-law that we didn't feel like we deserted our base of voters," Lara Trump said, McClatchy reported.
"I expect that come 2019, 2020, I'll be right back here like I was for the campaign in 2016, on the ground, talking to voters, hopefully getting the ability to travel around with a great group of women like I did with the past campaign, but we'll see."
