Trump's Daughter-in-Law: Still 'Stuff Up Our Sleeve'

(Fox News/"Fox & Friends")

Donald Trump may have a hidden October surprise hidden up his sleeve for Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, hinted in an interview Monday morning.

"Well, there's still a couple days left in October," Trump, who is married to the GOP nominee's son Eric, told Fox News' "Fox & Friends," after she was asked about the potential of a surprise. "We've got some stuff up our sleeve."

Trump wouldn't say what her father-in-law has planned, but cast doubt on polls that put him behind in the race.

"We feel great, actually," she told the program. "There's no disputing the people that are coming to these rallies, he's still getting 15,000-20,000 people three times a day sometimes at these rallies . . .

"I think the polls really don't reflect the enthusiasm that exists for Donald Trump out there, and I also think there are a lot of people that may not tell anyone they are voting for Donald Trump, but they are going to get in the voting booth."

October has been a tough month, though, she admitted.

"People have been preparing us for October and the last couple weeks leading up to the election for quite some time, and I think we all knew that it would be tough but, this is new to all of us," she said.

"No one  has ever been involved in politics, and I don't think anything can prepare you for daily, your family member getting just bludgeoned by the media. All angles, all sides. It has been tough, but you know what, it actually has brought us closer together as a family because when you go through something like this, you really have each other, and I actually am grateful for that."

Trump appeared on the program with Lynne Patton, the vice-president of the Trump Foundation. The pair has been on the campaign trail trying to motivate female voters, and Patton said the women's tour started "very organically" with women who know Trump in personal ways and who know the "softer side" of him.

"We were tired of the false narrative that was out there, and we decided to join together, to go out on the road and tell our version of Mr. Trump, the version we know, which is a private Mr. Trump, which is the true Mr. Trump, which is a Mr. Trump that we all know and love."

Trump said when she first met Trump, she was "so shocked by how engaging he was with me."

"It's intimidating to meet your future in-laws in any capacity, let alone when it's Donald Trump," she said. "When Donald Trump talks to you one-on-one, he really looks you in the eye, he speaks very softly.

"I was really impressed by that personal level that he got down to with me and it was really amazing, and the entire family, I mean, you guys see it all the time. I'm so lucky to be part of such a great family, and it's truly a blessing."
