Former Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove called Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee who've been grilling U.S. attorney general Bill Barr "jerks," reports Mediaite.
Following a combative moment that led into a hearing recess, Fox News host Bill Hemmer asked his guests to comment on the exchanges. Robert Ray, who worked on a legal team for President Donald Trump, credited Barr for displaying patience while Democratic committee members were "posturing" by interrupting his answers.
Rove, however, shredded those same Democrats for their behavior toward the attorney general.
“I thought a lot of the Democratic questioners looked like jerks. They were there to stamp their feet, wag their finger, lash out at the attorney general, and not give him a chance to answer their questions, and if he did get an answer into their questions they immediately ignored him, stomped off and went on," Rove said.
He continued, "This was embarrassing… I have to give the Democrats credit. They obviously prepared for this, they knew their attack lines, they knew how to say ‘this is my time, I’m taking back my time,’ they knew how to control the dialogue but they come off looking like jerks.”
