California Dem Kamala Harris Signs Book Deal

A junior Senate Democrat who might join the 2020 race for the White House has signed a deal to release a book early next year.

According to Politico, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., will author "The Truths We Hold: An American Journey."

Penguin Books purchased the rights for the book that will hit shelves in January 2019.

Harris, according to Penguin, will discuss in her book "the core truths that unite us, and the long struggle to discern what those truths are and how best to act upon them, in her own life and across the life of our country."

Harris has not announced her intention to run for president, but she has not ruled it out, either. It is worth noting she published another book — "Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor's Plan to Make Us Safer" — in 2009, a year before she was elected California's attorney general.
