White House on Ginsburg: She's the 'Notorious RBG'

White House spokesman Josh Earnest cracked a joke Wednesday when asked about Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's comments criticizing Donald Trump.

"She didn't earn the nickname the 'Notorious RBG' for nothing," Earnest said during a press briefing, reports The Hill. 

Earnest declined to give much of a comment on Ginsburg's remarks, the latest of which called Trump a "faker." 

Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said Wednesday Ginsburg should consider resigning and questioned her mental capacity. 

"I wouldn't call her competence into question," Earnest said. "She has demonstrated a keen intellect and an understanding of the law and a commitment to ensuring that it’s applied fairly to every American."

Ginsburg slammed Trump in interviews with The New York Times and the Associated Press last week.
