Hundreds of emails sent from White House address accounts to a previously unreported email account on Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump's private domain are being examined by White House officials, Politico reported Monday.
The White House is already investigating the use of private emails by senior aides, an effort which comes in the wake of a Politico report Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and other top officials have used private email accounts to conduct government business since January.
Kushner's lawyer, Abbe Lowell, said there were fewer than 100 emails about government business in the first account uncovered and the messages had all been forwarded to his White House account. A person familiar with the exchanges told Politico on Monday that many of the emails in the third account had come from Ivanka Trump's assistant about work-related "data."
But a family representative said Ivanka Trump has kept her personal life and work life separate.
"Her personal and work obligations, schedule, travel arrangements, and contacts were and are coordinated in accordance with this separation, as she was advised to do," said the representative, adding Trump's emails had all been preserved in accordance with the Presidential Records Act.
"The extent of this coordination illustrates both full transparency and a desired separation between her work and personal functions," this person said.
