Hillary Clinton belittled Donald Trump at a rally Tuesday, then told supporters they should "stage an intervention" with friends who were thinking of voting for him.
"If you know anybody who's thinking about voting for Trump," she said, per The Hill. "Well, first of all, stage an intervention. I believe that most of us here have paid a lot more federal income taxes than Donald Trump has paid. He took everything our great country has to offer. He scooped it up with both hands, and then paid nothing to support us."
Clinton was talking to a crowd in Sanford, Fla., making a final run of appearances as this election cycle winds down, one that suddenly turned tight following news the FBI was reviewing an investigation into how Clinton handled classified information during her time as secretary of state.
In Florida, two polls report Clinton ahead by one percentage point, while two polls have Trump ahead by four, according to Real Clear Politics.
Clinton leads by 2.2 percentage points nationally. She said Tuesday that Trump had yet to release his tax returns, questioned his ties to Russia, and mentioned the recent news by the New York Times he used dubious tactics to avoid paying federal income taxes for nearly two decades.
