Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is banking on a comeback in Indiana next week after losing to GOP front-runner Donald Trump in five states Tuesday night, but Fox News media reporter Howard Kurtz says Cruz is coming up against a Trump steamroller.

Trump has momentum and the media on his side with coverage of his big night, Kurtz said on post-election coverage on Fox News Channel.

Many observers think Trump could still falter if Cruz does well in Indiana and Trump underperforms in his upcoming interview with Megyn Kelly, Kurtz said, but they are missing one thing: the psychological impact of Trump piling up win after win.

"People now think he'll be the nominee and two-thirds of Connecticut Republicans in our exit polls say the person with the most votes should be the nominee, meaning Trump even if he doesn't get to the numbers."
