Poll: Hillary Will Help Dems More Than Trump to GOP

Most Democrats think presumptive White House nominee Hillary Clinton will help the party's congressional candidates in November, but only a third of Republicans say the same thing about Donald Trump's down-ballot influence, a new poll shows.

The Rasmussen Reports survey released Monday finds:

• 53 percent of likely Democratic voters believe Clinton will boost Democratic candidate running for Congress
• 13 percent say she'll will hurt those candidates
• 24 percent say Clinton'll have no impact on most of those races.

By comparison:

• 33 percent of likely Republican voters think Trump will help GOP congressional contenders
• 25 percent say he'll hurt those candidates
• 35 percent say he'll have no impact.

Among all likely voters:

• 34 percent think Clinton's down-ballot influence will help Democrats
• 29 percent say she'll hurt them
• 21 percent think Trump will boost Republicans running for Congress
• 46 percent think he'll hurt their chances.

The pollster notes the findings come on the heels of the critical findings against Clinton by both the FBI and House committee investigating the deadly 2012 terror attack on a U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya.

The survey's margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
