The platform given to Black Lives Matter at this week's Democratic convention and Hillary Clinton's "repeated condemnation" of cops could cost her the support of the law enforcement community in November, the founder of Serve & Protect said.
In a column he wrote for the Daily Caller, Rob Michaels said Clinton and the Democrats are pandering to the same group of people who have wrongfully politicized law enforcement while disregarding facts of high publicity cases.
"Ms. Clinton's repeated condemnation of police officers and sweeping allegations of bias, as well as embracing groups calling for police deaths at the DNC convention, could be the final nail in the coffin for losing the support of more than a million law enforcement officers come voting time," Michaels wrote.
From Ferguson to Baltimore to Dallas, Michaels writes that law enforcement has been the losing end of the political rhetoric despite factual outcomes — and the deaths of police officers.
And now, the Democrats giving a national voice to a group that calls for more cops to die might be the final indignity.
"The Democrats have an international stage this week. They should have chosen a better message that shows respect for law enforcement," Michaels wrote.
Michaels founded Serve & Protect in 2011 as a way to facilitate trauma services to public safety professionals, according to a short bio on the Daily Caller.
