South Carolina’s two Republican senators have amassed impressive war chests in their campaigns to hold on to their seats.
Sen. Lindsey Graham has a whopping $6.9 million in cash to spend on his bid for re-election,
The State newspaper reports.
And Sen. Tim Scott, appointed by Gov. Nikki Haley after Jim DeMint resigned to head the Heritage Foundation, has raised $2.8 million.
Both men face the voters in 2014.
Graham, a two-term senator, is expected to face three GOP primary challengers, although none has officially thrown a hat in the ring.
They are state Sen. Lee Bright; Nancy Mace, the first woman to graduate from The Citadel, and businessman and former congressional candidate Richard Cash.
No one has yet come forward to challenge Scott in a primary.
