Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said if the GOP does not deliver on its mandate from Election Day and campaign promises, it will incite the electorate with "pitchforks and torches in the streets."
"If we're given the White House and both houses of Congress and we don’t deliver, I think there will be pitchforks and torches in the streets, and I think quite rightly," Cruz told ABC host Martha Raddatz on Sunday's "This Week."
Cruz, who had been at odds at times with President-elect Donald Trump, was responding to questions about whether Trump's stances are changing from his presidential campaign to his policy plans and appointments of his current transition.
"I think people are so fed up with Washington, this election was a mandate with change, and the most catastrophic thing Republicans could do is go back to business as usual," Cruz told Raddatz.
