Rudy Giuliani insists Donald Trump is pleased with his performance as a lawyer on the president's legal team, and the former New York mayor says they remain on the same page on how to proceed.
The comments from Giuliani came in an interview with BuzzFeed News on Tuesday.
Trump reportedly had become irritated with Giuliani's frequently off-message media blitz, including remarks about hush money paid to porn actress Stormy Daniels.
But asked by BuzzFeed if he now has a better handle on things, Giuliani replied: "Increasingly, every day, yes, of course."
And he said Trump is happy with his performance.
"I know he is," Giuliani said. "We are definitely on the same page, as they say."
Meanwhile, Giuliani said he expects a decision will be made in about two weeks on how to proceed with a request by special counsel Robert Mueller to interview the president.
"I think we can get ourselves decided by two weeks — with a little fudge room for what's going on right now, which appears to be getting hotter and heavier with Iran, in a positive way North Korea, and China," Giuliani told BuzzFeed.
"I played golf with him on Sunday, and we spent maybe a half-hour talking about the case, and then the rest of the time he was relaxing and talking about golf and sports and a little bit about other things — but not the case,. I know he can function on about five different levels — or about five different tracks. I don't like it though — even for the country."
