One of former President Barack Obama's top national security aides said Monday the confirmation of President Donald Trump's nominee to lead the CIA has become "a referendum on a dark chapter in our history that should be over."
CIA Deputy Director Gina Haspel, Trump's choice to now lead the CIA, has come under fire for her role in the agency's enhanced interrogation program, having briefly headed a CIA "black site" prison in Thailand, where prisoners were subjected to harsh techniques to try and acquire information.
