President Donald Trump is expected to attend on Wednesday, along with his lawyer Rudy Giuliani, a hearing being held by Pennsylvania Republicans in Gettysburg on allegations of fraud in the elections earlier this month, two source familiar with the plan told CNN.

Although the event was not listed on the public schedule released by the White House on Tuesday night, the sources said Trump told aides to make plans for the trip, which are being handled internally as an unannounced movement.

One source said that since the the trip is being dealt with as an unplanned "off the record" movement, the plans could change.

The Trump campaign and Pennsylvania Senate Republicans announced plans for the Gettysburg meeting on Tuesday, billing it as an event to expose "irregularities" in the election, including, according to the campaign, expected "testimony from witnesses who have filed affidavits attesting to 2020 election fraud."

This despite state election officials saying there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud, and court dismissals of lawsuits attempting to prevent Pennsylvania from certifying the results, which they officially did on Tuesday.

Bloomberg speculated that Trump could use the event as a way to continue formenting discontent over the election results as a springboard to launching another presidential bid in 2024 or starting his own media network.

Pennsylvania State Sen. Doug Mastriano said he had asked for the hearing because voters in the state “lost faith in the electoral system.”
