George Conway, husband to White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, has released a Twitter poll asking whether President Donald Trump or The New York Times is more credible.
Conway, a lawyer and frequent critic of the president, was responding to a tweet from Trump attacking the Times as "a true enemy of the people," after the newspaper released a report detailing Trump's alleged attempts to influence the various investigations into himself and his associates.
"In light of this tweet, let's pose the question . . ." Conway wrote on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
"Please vote. And then please retweet (often)," he wrote in a follow-up tweet. "Who has more credibility?"
He then asked respondents to choose either the Times or Trump.
Conway founded the organization Checks and Balances last November, and encourages conservative lawyers like himself to oppose Trump.
"We believe in the rule of law, the power of truth, the independence of the criminal justice system, the imperative of individual rights, and the necessity of civil discourse," reads the group's mission statement. "We believe these principles apply regardless of the party or persons in power."
