The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee outraised the National Republican Senatorial Committee by $2 million in January.
The NRSC
announced Tuesday that it raised $4.6 million in January, but the campaign arm of the Senate Democrats raised $6.6 million,
The Washington Post reported.
The DSCC says it now has $15 million in the bank with $2.5 million in debt. By comparison, the Senate Republicans have $10 million in cash with no debt.
The NRSC had outraised the DSCC in December by a small margin with $4.02 million versus $4 million. However, the Senate Democrats raised $16 million more overall, compared to their Republican counterparts in 2013.
Republicans are hoping to win six Senate seats in November in order to take back the majority.
Republicans are leading Democrats in five of six of those Senate races and are tied in the sixth race, according to
recent polls.
