President Donald Trump's approval ratings are inching up, but it's the earlier-than-expected 3.1 percent economic growth rate that'll likely matter most to his supporters, Fox News reported.
In the latest Fox News poll, 42 percent of voters approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 53 percent disapprove — an improvement over the 41-55 percent figures from August.
Fox News host Martha MacCallum on Friday noted, however, voter approval may really hinge on whether jobs are being created, if growth can continue and "can a new tax plan juice the economy."
Fox News' chief White House correspondent Ed Henry reported Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Michigan and Wisconsin on Friday to pump up support for the White House tax cut plan — two states that helped put Trump in the White House.
"There are still some challenges for the president," Henry said. "The market' already factoring in a big tax cut … if it doesn't get signed into law, that could be a big problem."
