Forty-five percent of likely Florida voters support President Donald Trump and 45% back Joe Biden, according to a new Suffolk University/USA Today Network poll.
“You can’t get any closer than a 45/45 split; it really reflects the core support of the respective bases,” said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center.
Six percent of Florida voters are still undecided.
Here are how the results of the Florida poll, released Tuesday, break down:
- 48% approve of Trump’s job performance, compared to 47% who disapprove.
- 49% back a Senate vote on Amy Coney Barrett, Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court, while 44% oppose voting on her nomination.
- 45% describe Trump’s coronavirus response as “poor,” compared to 42% who rate it his efforts as “good” or “excellent.” 13% say he is doing a “fair” job responding to the pandemic.
- 41% believe Biden won the first presidential debate, while 24% believe Trump won.
The poll, conducted Oct. 1-4, surveyed 500 likely Florida voters. The margin of error is 4.4 percentage points.
