Amazon started taking advance orders for Gov. Rick Scott's new book,
"Chasing Sunshine: Remarkable People Who Found the American Dream in Florida," on Tuesday, saying on the website that it will be available by April 15.
"Let the sun shine on fresh starts, second chances, and boundless opportunity," the description reads. "Underneath such a glorious mix of abundance, Florida offers one thing more: possibility."
Scott said recently that the book wouldn't be available until at least after the gubernatorial election in November, the
Tampa Bay Times reported. Scott's campaign manager, Melissa Sellers, also said there would be no book until November,
Scott's likely Democratic challenger, former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, recently finished a three-week national tour promoting his own book,
"The Party's Over: How the Extreme Right Hijacked the GOP and I Became a Democrat," according to the Times.
The current governor collaborated on his book with author Heidi Tyline King. Those who are profiled include "George Burgess, the world's foremost shark expert; Gladys Rubio, hurricane chaser; Tramar Dillard, best known by his rap persona, Flo Rida; and Mary Ann Carroll, one of the original Florida Highwaymen artists," according to Amazon.
"These people aren't necessarily rich or famous, and their paths to success have been personal and unpredictable. Still, with perseverance and hard work, these trailblazers grabbed hold of the possibilities before them to make their dreams come true," it adds.
