The FBI is probing the alleged harassment of a Joe Biden campaign bus traveling from San Antonio to Austin on Friday by a pro-Trump caravan of vehicles, a law enforcement source told CNN on Sunday.
A Biden campaign official said the pro-Trump caravan tried to slow down the bus and run it off the road, while another source said people in the caravan yelled profanities and obscenities at the bus.
Police eventually arrived to make sure the bus made it safely to its destination after Biden staffers called 911 for help. The Biden campaign was urging supporters in Texas to vote on the state's last day of early voting.
Biden staffers were shaken up by the event, although no one was hurt. Wendy Davis, who is running against Republican Rep. Chip Roy for the state's 21st Congressional District, was on the bus. Neither Biden nor his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris were in the vehicle.
President Donald Trump tweeted a video on Saturday of the incident, with the words "I LOVE TEXAS!"
On Sunday, Trump praised the Texas caravan in a campaign rally in Michigan and claimed that “they were protecting [Biden’s] bus yesterday because they are nice,” according to The Hill.
