President Donald Trump’s son Eric is set to hit the campaign trail for his father in the Midwest on Tuesday, including the key battleground state of Michigan.
Eric Trump will hold a noon rally at Huron Valley Guns in New Hudson, Mich., 35 miles west of Detroit. He will then hold another event in Northfield, Minn., Click on Detroit reported.
"At these events, Eric Trump will share President Donald J. Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda with the American people," according to a statement from the Trump campaign announcing the event, the website reported.
The Trump campaign is planning to pull resources out of Michigan, where polling has been in favor of Democrat Joe Biden, Newsmax has reported. Republicans are also shifting Senate race resources to tight races in North Carolina, Georgia, and Iowa, Newsmax's John Gizzi reported.
The decision came on the heels of the FBI foiling a plot to kidnap Michigan Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer — a plot for which she later called out the president for being "complicit" by "giving comfort to those who spread fear and hatred and division."
Trump won Michigan by less than a percentage point in 2016.
