President Donald Trump's son Eric confirmed Friday that his father is considering moving his campaign's election night party to the White House from where his appearance had been planned at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.
“No, we’re thinking about moving it, actually, over to the White House," he told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "We’re looking at that right now, and it’s going to be a great night. It’s going to be a really, really beautiful night."
The New York Times reported Friday that the president had canceled his plans to appear at his namesake hotel for an election night party after his campaign had already sent out fundraising solicitations to several supporters.
Meanwhile, his son Eric said the president's message as Election Day nears remains "peace and prosperity."
"My father built the greatest economy the country has ever seen, rebuilt our military, [did] criminal justice reform," he said. "In the last four weeks, he's done four peace deals and no one wants to talk about that."
The GDP numbers posted at 33.1% growth Thursday are the "greatest in the nation's history," said Trump. "My father wants the country to be wealthy, he wants the country to be successful. He wants people to be able to live the American dream and it's very different than [Joe] Biden, who talks about 'a dark winter is coming, a dark winter is coming.'"
He added that he's not surprised Biden's son Hunter isn't campaigning for his father, considering the scandal surrounding him in recent weeks over his laptop and his dealings in China and Ukraine.
"I would be hiding in a cave somewhere," Trump said. "We love our father. This is the last job in the world he needed. Frankly the last job in the world our family needed and we love the nation."
He also noted his father's popularity while discounting poll numbers that show Biden in the lead.
"Look at my father's crowds, he's drawing 30,000 people," he said. "The whole crowd is chanting something unique, it's not the red meat chant of 4 years ago, it's 'we love you.'"
