Rep. Burlison to Newsmax: Bill Clinton 'Had to Know' Epstein Crimes Illegal

By    |   Wednesday, 04 February 2026 07:29 PM EST

Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Mo., said former President Bill Clinton "had to have known" illegal activity was occurring at Jeffrey Epstein’s properties.

He cited what he described on Newsmax as the former president’s "very, very intimate involvement" with the disgraced financier.

Speaking Wednesday on "Bianca Across the Nation," Burlison said congressional investigators should question both Bill and Hillary Clinton over their alleged ties to Epstein, arguing their presence alone may have enabled abuse.

"At the end of the day, there’s a lot of things," Burlison said.

"While Bill Clinton may or may not have had any kind of physical contact with these women, he had to have known that something was illegal that was happening."

Burlison pointed to public allegations by Epstein victims, noting that "there’s been three victims that have publicly stated that they had interactions with Bill Clinton," including one who was photographed "giving him a massage."

"The fact that he was present gives a chilling effect to any of these victims to coming forward," Burlison said, adding that the former president’s connection was "enabling the illegal activity that Epstein was doing at the minimum."

Burlison also accused the Clintons of stonewalling congressional oversight, saying they initially refused to comply with subpoenas issued by the House Oversight Committee.

"The only two people that would not respond to the subpoena were Bill and Hillary Clinton, acting as if they were above the law."

They only agreed to cooperate when "a contempt of Congress vote was on the books," he said.

The Missouri Republican further alleged deep financial and personal ties, claiming the Clinton Foundation was "Jeffrey Epstein’s brainchild" and that Epstein "helped him to create it and then helped fund this foundation that benefited Hillary."

"Even after Jeffrey Epstein was found guilty, there were interactions with the Clintons through Ghislaine Maxwell," Burlison said.

"So there’s a lot of connections that we need to get to the bottom of."

Burlison said lawmakers are seeking accountability for victims who believe "the system, the government, law enforcement, and our Department of Justice really let them down."

"We’ll look forward to asking them tough questions," he said.
