Rep. Elijah Cummings said Sunday he is "looking forward" to meeting with President Donald Trump in two weeks to discuss the high price of subscription drugs, voter suppression and America's urban areas.
In an interview on CBS News' "Face The Nation," the Maryland Democrat and member of the Congressional Black Caucus said the meeting will likely happen the week of Feb. 27.
"I'm looking forward to it," he said, adding: "I want to talk about prescription drugs, the high price of prescription drugs. And [Trump] has made it clear that he wants to do something about that."
Cummings also said he wants to talk about voting rights and issues affecting the nation's cities as well.
The meeting with the CBC became an issue during the president's press conference last Thursday, when he claimed Cummings had canceled a meeting.
Cummings said though it would be "very, very hard" for Democrats to work with Trump because of their differences, he insisted: "I've got to work with him on the things that I can."
