Election results were delayed Tuesday in Fulton County, Georgia, after a water pipe burst in a room with absentee ballots, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The pipe burst at State Farm Arena above the processing room, but no ballots were damaged. Processing was delayed by four hours.
''The matter caused the start of work today to be delayed by four hours,'' said county spokesperson Regina Waller.
''The team is prepared to continue working to complete processing of absentee ballots,'' Waller added.
Fulton County is the largest county in Georgia and includes Atlanta.
Waller said the county plans on counting all ballots Tuesday night. As of 7 p.m., 30,000 absentee ballots still were not processed.
Election officials will reassess the situation at 10 p.m. to determine how to proceed, but said it will be a late night for results.
