Republicans are seeing an early voting surge across the key battleground state of Florida, according to state Division of Elections' statistics released Sunday.
Statewide, Democrats hold a narrow lead of just 94,000 more ballots cast than Republicans, with 3,410,789 to 3,315,884, reports The Lakeland Ledger.
According to the Florida Division of Elections, as of Sunday, more Democrats than Republicans voted by mail, but more GOP voters have cast ballots in early voting:
- 4,587,136 have voted by mail, including 2,086,019 Democrats, 1,432,373 Republicans, 1,008,279 with no party affiliation, and 60,465 others.
- 4,113,509 have voted early, including 1,883,511 Republicans, 1,324,770 Democrats, 845,881 with no party affiliation, and 59,347 others.
- 8,700,645 total early votes have been cast, including by 3,410,789 Democrats, 3,315,884 Republicans, 1,854,160 with no party affiliation, and 119,812 others.
- The no party affiliation vote is also growing and could be pivotal in deciding the race between President Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Joe Biden, with 1,854,160 such votes being counted statewide.
Florida's early turnout is breaking records, with 8,700,645 ballots being cast, for 61.9% of the votes.
