President Donald Trump "will continue fighting for the American worker" despite the European Union's 10-page list of American products facing potential retaliation if he proceeds with tariffs on steel and aluminum exports, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Friday.

"He is also working with a number of individual countries and negotiating on areas of national security where we can work together," she told reporters at the daily briefing. "There's some flexibility there."

The EU released a list of American products, from corn to orange juice to tobacco to motorcycles — that could also face duties if President Trump's tariffs take effect next week.

"We're continuing to have those conversations and will continue through the end of next week," Sanders said.
