President Donald Trump ripped Democrats a second time Thursday because they "just aren't calling about DACA," warning that the March 5 deadline for the program's expiration "is coming up fast."
Trump took to Twitter:
Nearly 700,000 young aliens are affected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which is scheduled to expire March 5.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced in September that the Obama-era effort, which provides protections to children brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents, would end in six months.
Last month, Democrats squared off with Republicans over DACA in the debate over whether to approve temporary funding to keep the federal government running.
The stalemate created a three-day partial shutdown that ended after Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky promised a full debate on a permanent DACA fix.
