Bernie Sanders slammed Donald Trump on Saturday for his attack on Rexnord Corp.'s plans to move 300 union jobs to Mexico, accusing the president-elect for not standing up "for working people."
The Vermont senator, who lost the Democratic primary to Hillary Clinton, attacked Trump on Twitter:
On Friday, Trump bashed Rexnord for its announcement last month that it would shift its union jobs and those of as many as 80 managers from Indianapolis to Mexico by next June.
Based in Milwaukee, Rexnord makes industrial and aerospace products and has a global workforce of more than 7,400.
On Thursday, Trump and officials at Carrier said that the company’s air-conditioner manufacturing plant — along with 1,100 jobs — would remain in Indianapolis.
Carrier said in February that it was moving the operation to Mexico, displacing 1,400 workers.
In return, Carrier's parent, United Technologies, will receive $7 million in state tax incentives over 10 years.
