President Donald Trump offered to apologize Friday for retweeting anti-Muslim videos by the right-wing British group Britain First.
During a Friday morning interview with Piers Morgan on ITV's "Good Morning Britain," Trump said he did not know anything about the Britain First group and was prepared to apologize.
"If you are telling me they're horrible people, horrible racist people, I would certainly apologize if you'd like me to do that," Trump said in the interview.
"I don't want to be involved with people like that. But you're telling me about these people, because I know nothing about these people," Trump said, referring to the Britain First group.
Trump drew rebukes in November from UK Prime Minister Theresa May and other officials for retweeting the videos.
The president said in the Friday interview that he retweeted the videos "because I'm a big believer in fighting radical Islamic terror."
Trump and May agreed Thursday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland for a Trump visit to Britain in the summer, The Times reported.
The president said Thursday that reports of he and May having a poor relationship were "a fake rumor."
