President Donald Trump took to Twitter late Friday to tout that Obamacare is "being dismantled" through his decision to end subsidy payments to insurers and the executive order he signed allowing companies to offer lower-cost plans.

Here are the president's posts:

The White House announced Friday that it was ending the cost-sharing subsidies to insurers because they lacked formal authorization by Congress.

The administration, however, had been making the payments every month — with President Trump threatening to end them to force Democrats to negotiate a healthcare deal.

The day before, Trump signed the executive order, directing federal agencies to provide lower-cost options for Americans and creating competition in individual insurance markets.

White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney defended ending the subsidies, saying Friday that they amounted to "checks from the Treasury to some of the largest health insurance companies in the country.

"This was not a subsidy to you or me or anyone else," he told Wolf Blitzer on CNN.

"This was, essentially, a payoff to the insurance companies to support Obamacare in the first place back if 2009-2010," Mulvaney said. "It's been a terrible policy."
