Donald Trump's potential presidency has been on the minds of Mexico throughout the election cycle and the level of anxiety reached a maximum Tuesday night, as Business Insider wrote.
"We're very worried," Marcello Hinojosa, president in the border city of Tijuana of industry group Canacintra, told Reuters. "We know what Donald Trump is looking to do, which is limit the imports, he wants to manufacture everything in the States."
Mexico's peso has fallen nearly 8 percent and nearing 20 to the dollar Tuesday night, Business Insider's reported.
Hinojosa called a Trump presidency not only bad for Mexico, but "suicide" for the U.S., too.
"[T]his has been analyzed by both the United States and by Mexico and it's suicide for both countries," he added.
More than 80 percent of Mexico's exports come to the U.S., and some 6 million U.S. jobs depend on trade with Mexico, according to the US Chamber of Commerce, per Business Insider.
Mexico has been preparing for a Trump presidency that would hit like "hurricane," Business Insider had reported.
