Trump Jr.: Father Made Strides Despite 'Obstruction'

By    |   Monday, 03 February 2020 11:55 AM EST

Donald Trump Jr. Monday slammed the impeachment process, saying his father continued making strides despite the "unprecedented obstruction" from the "do-nothing Democrats."

"The Washington Post made the case for impeachment literally 20 minutes after inauguration," Trump Jr. told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "This is what the Democrats have been doing since day one."

But when the articles of impeachment were being signed, "my father signed a historic trade deal with China," Trump Jr. said. "That's the difference between the do-nothing Democrats and my father. "He's actually getting things done."

He also spoke out about how he has been treated in comparison with Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, and his job with Ukraine energy giant Burisma, and fact that the younger Biden was never called to testify.

"I've done 30 hours of testimony regarding a 20-minute unsolicited meeting," Trump Jr. said. "Meanwhile, Hunter Biden is taking millions. He's literally the start of the entire Ukraine hoax and they don't even consider calling him. Think about it, 30 hours in front of the House and Senate...this isn't even hyperbole anymore. The impeachment hoax started the day my father won the election."

Now, Trump Jr. said he wants to see Democrats start working his father on infrastructure, lower healthcare, and prescription drug costs, and more but he doesn't think "they are capable of it."

"They've seen that Donald Trump, an outsider can come in, can deliver, can go through the checklist of promises and deliver for the American people and that scares the establishment side people because they've never done that," said Trump Jr.

He also commented on his father's potential Democratic rivals for the White House, making a particular comparison between Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders.

"There's a viral effect, sort of like what Trump had when they said we couldn't win," he said of Sanders.

However, he said he wants to see his father go up against Biden "one-on-one" for five months.

"I see Joe Biden in front of a teleprompter speaking to 20 (people), he confuses which state he's in at least 50% of the time," said Trump Jr.

Meanwhile, Sen. Elizabeth Warren has an "entire life (that is) based on a lie," said Trump Jr., adding that "sort of like to run against that."

The rest of the candidates are "probably irrelevant," said Trump Jr.
