President Donald Trump repeated his concerns about naming his daughter Ivanka as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Friday morning, saying she's well-qualified but that he would be accused of nepotism.

Trump posted this on his Twitter account shortly before 10 a.m. ET:

"So nice, everyone wants Ivanka Trump to be the new United Nations Ambassador. She would be incredible, but I can already hear the chants of Nepotism! We have great people that want the job."

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley announced her resignation Tuesday, saying she will step down from her post at the end of the year. The administration has already worked up a list of potential successors, but others — including the president himself — have suggested Ivanka Trump would be a perfect fit for the job.

But Trump has claimed that his critics will say that he favored Ivanka Trump for the role simply because she is his daughter.

For what it's worth, Ivanka Trump said Tuesday that she will not be the next U.N. ambassador.

It was reported Thursday that Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation founder Nancy Brinker is being considered for the role.
