Nearly half of voters say they're less likely to support candidates running for office if they back Donald Trump, a new poll shows.

The Morning Consult survey released Tuesday comes as Democrats try to tie GOP candidates on the November ballot to the party's presumptive presidential nominee.

According to the survey, 38 percent say they're "much less likely" to support down-ballot candidates who support Trump, while 11 percent say they're "somewhat less likely."

The poll found 16 percent who say they're "much more likely" to support down-ballot candidates who have voiced support for Trump; 17 percent say they're "somewhat more likely" to select those candidates.

Another 18 percent “don’t know” or had “no opinion.”

The poll has margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
