Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Saturday that he would end the super PACs that have been pouring billions of dollars into elections in recent years if he were elected to the White House.
"Super PACs should not be allowed,"
he told CNN after a campaign speech in Norfolk, Va. "Super PACs should not be allowed.
"It is absolutely a disgrace what's happening with super PACs," he continued. "They shouldn't be allowed.
"They're a disgrace, they're horrible for our country and they should be ended. I'd end super PACs."
Trump, who his financing his own campaign, has railed against super PACs in recent weeks. He has urged those working on his behalf to return their donations and has called on other candidates to forgo their support.
He recently called super PACS a "scam" on CNN's
"State of the Union."
