Donald Trump will let corporations and deep-pocketed donors kick in to fund his inauguration events – but he's banning money from registered lobbyists, the New York Times reports.

According to the Times, Trump would solicit corporate donations up to $1 million and allow money to be transferred from political action committees on a case-by-case basis.

There's no decision yet on if there'll be a cap – or what it'd be – on gifts from individuals, the Times reported.

The president-elect hopes to raise roughly $65 million to $75 million to fund the parade, balls and other festivities surrounding his swearing-in, the Times reported, citing unnamed sources.

President Barack Obama raised $43 million for his 2013 inauguration and $53 million for his first inauguration in 2009, according to the Times.

But in 2009, Obama put in place strict restrictions on inaugural donations, limiting individual contributions to $50,000 while banning donations from lobbyists and corporations, the Times reported.

President George W. Bush didn't restrict who could support his inaugural festivities, but placed caps on gifts, the Times reported.
