DNC Emails: Don't Help 'Right Wing Rag' Washington Examiner

Leaked emails from the Democratic National Committee show paranoid officials within the party urging its members to ignore and not help the "right wing rag" Washington Examiner publish a souvenir edition magazine for their convention, the Examiner reports.

The Examiner put out the magazine, also published in Cleveland last week, in part to list names and contact information of all 4,767 delegates that would be of value to readers and advertisers.

But the noble attempt was met with skepticism within the DNC.

"Hey everybody — heads up. Someone … with the Washington Examiner (a right-wing rag based in DC) has been emailing the DNC and state parties asking for a list of delegates and their personal/contact information. We do not provide personal information or contact information about delegates, especially not to right-wing media outlets. We would advise you to ignore this inquiry," emailed DNC Deputy Communications Director Eric Walker to the state parties, the Examiner reports.

While one state spokesman agreed not to help "that rotten newspaper," he wrote that the idea was a good one.

"I am thinking that our delegates may like to be in one of those … You know how people like to see their names in print," emailed spokesman Dean Ferguson of Idaho.

The Examiner reports that it was able to obtain the names of all the delegates for the magazine anyway, and that it's available at the Democratic convention starting Monday.
