Social media personalities Lynnette "Diamond" Hardaway and Rochelle "Silk" Richardson on Friday repeated their denial that they perjured themselves while testifying that they were never paid by President Donald Trump’s campaign and thanked "white Republicans" for giving them a chance to speak.
The pair testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, and were subsequently accused of lying under oath about money they received from the Trump campaign. Hardaway said that they have "never been paid by the Trump campaign," but Rep. Hakeen Jeffries, D-N.Y., confronted them with information from the Federal Election Commission, which lists a payment of $1,274.94 from the Trump campaign to "Diamond and Silk" for "Field Consulting" in November, 2016.
"We will not be silent," Hardaway said alongside Richardson on Fox News’ "Fox & Friends," in an interview on Friday.
"And We are very thankful to the white Republicans that allowed us a seat at the table to speak our truth about what’s going on unlike the black men,” Richardson added.
"The reason why I say that is because we’ve been on the Democrat plantation," she continued. “We know what it’s like over there. They are the ones that condition black people’s minds to make us think that white Republicans don’t want us to work, don’t want us to have any money in our pocket. But it was a black man that was concerned about how much money Diamond and Silk was making and was appalled about us making money legally."
