Most Americans — by more than a 20-point margin — prefer Obamacare to the latest Republican healthcare plan, a new Washington Post/ABC News poll showed Friday.

According to the survey, 56 percent of respondents said they support the Affordable Care Act over the proposed Graham-Cassidy bill, compared with 33 percent who favor the GOP legislation.

Forty-two percent strongly prefer Obamacare — almost twice as many as those who strongly prefer the GOP plan, the survey found.

Among Republicans, 66 percent favor the GOP plan over Obamacare, while 23 percent said they prefer Obamacare; 31 percent of conservatives prefer Obamacare, the poll showed.

Among Democrats, 85 percent favor Obamacare over the Republican plan.

In other findings:

  • 75 percent of nonwhites prefer Obamacare, compared with 45 percent of whites.
  • Preference for Obamacare ranges from 63 percent of young adults — to 47 percent of seniors, and from 61 percent among those with household incomes less than $50,000 to 48 percent of those with $100,000-plus incomes.
  • 62 percent of women prefer Obamacare; 50 percent of men agree.

The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
