Democrats out raised Republicans last month, according to The Hill, by more than $2 million.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee raised $8.6 million in June, giving them $29 million total in the bank, with no reported debt.

Their rival, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, brought in more than $6.5 million in that time, with about $26.4 million on hand and reporting no debt as well.

"Our continued fundraising success shows the frustration voters feel with a Republican-led Senate that's refused to take action on Zika funding, President Obama's Supreme Court nominee, and commonsense gun safety reform," read a statement from DSCC Executive Director Tom Lopach.

"As Republicans fall in line behind Donald Trump, our terrific candidates across the country are showing how they will stand up for middle class families, and we are thankful to have the resources necessary to help them win in November."

Democrats are looking to take five Senate seats this year, they need four at minimum if they keep the presidency, to take back the majority.

The GOP is defending 24 seats, many of which are in swing states that voted for President Barack Obama in both elections. Democrats have only 10 seats to defend.

According to analysis by FiveThirtyEight, Democrats are likely to win either three or four seats, with best chances in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida.
