Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro lashed out at Joe Biden at Thursday night’s debate among Democratic presidential candidates, accusing the former vice president of contradicting himself about details of his health-care plan.
"Are you forgetting what you said two minutes ago? Are you forgetting already what you said just two minutes ago?” Castro said, eliciting audible gasps from the audience.
“I can't believe that you said two minutes ago that they had to buy in, and now you're saying they don't have to buy in. You're forgetting that.”
Biden pushed back, insisting: “I said anyone like your grandmother who has no money.”
South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg scolded the pair.
“This is why presidential debates are becoming unwatchable. This reminds everybody of what they cannot stand about Washington. Scoring points against each other. Poking at each other.”
Added Sen. Amy Klobuchar: "A house divided cannot stand. And that is not how we're going to win this."
