White House adviser Darin Selnick, who has been critical of Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin, is going back to work at the VA, Politico reports.
The website said Selnick had announced the move in an email last week.
His return comes at a time when President Donald Trump is said to be unhappy with Shulkin and is considering replacing the secretary, Politico noted.
But one White House official told the website that Selnick's departure from the Domestic Policy Council "has nothing to do with Shulkin."
The Daily Beast said Shulkin has viewed Selnick as a prominent adversary and has reportedly blamed him for attempting to undermine his authority.
Selnick departed the VA last year after disagreeing with Shulkin over privatization of veterans' health services, Politico reported.
And Shulkin later told a confidant that moving Selnick out of the VA was a big mistake because he did more damage while at the White House, according to the website.
